My Favorite Products of 2019

Over the past twelve months I have been writing down my favorite products I have used this year. Though I did purchase some of these items with my own money, many of these were gifted to me over the year. These pieces range from books, to shoes, to haircare and are listed in the order that they came to mind. I do know that a few of these items are on the pricy side, and I know that I am so so fortunate to be able to have these things.

white sneakers: These have become such a staple in my closet. I want to say I have a about four pairs of just plain white sneakers, and I am always looking to add to my ever-growing collection. White sneakers truly are perfect for throwing on to make any outfit work. I cannot tell you how often you will find me wearing my staple Lulu Aligns with my white Adidas.

Brain of Fire: Over my junior year of high school one of my friends challenged our teacher to a reading competition. During this time my friend read Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan, introducing me to the story in the process. this book tells the true story of Susannah Cahalan as she was diagnosed with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the brain. This book was what got me back into reading to better myself and put into perspective for me that no matter how much I complain it would truly be so much worse. I highly recommend checking this book out if you do not know the story already. And if reading happens to not be your thing, you’re in luck. There is a movie adaptation to the book available on Netflix.

Louis Vuitton Confidential Bracelet: Next up for my favorite items is the bracelet my boyfriend gave me for my birthday this year. I have worn it every single day since then, and it has become a staple in my everyday jewelry. I know that this piece is more expensive and is not something everyone can get their hands on, but it is something that I am so so grateful to have.

Louis Vuitton Key Pouch: This is another piece that was given to me by my boyfriend. He bought it for me last Christmas, and it has not left my side since. The chain clasp is perfect for clipping my car and house keys, as well as my favorite monogram key chain. It is perfect for keeping a few cards and some cash without being too bulky. This one is very sleek, which is one of my favorite things about it. If you are able to get your hands on this I would highly recommend this product. Again, I am so so grateful to be fortunate enough to have this item, and I am not trying to brag in any way.

it cosmetics cc cream: Earlier this year I made the decision to completely move away from heavy foundations and towards a more light-weight cc cream. Though it is a little bit more expensive, this product is worth every penny. I have been using this product since early March, and I have not had to rebuy it yet. All I need is half a pump, and I’m good to go. I highly suggest going into Ulta and checking out it cosmetics if you haven’t already.

It’s A 10 Leave-In Spray: I am the type of person whose hair gets super big and frizzy when it’s air dried, and I have been on the hunt for something to tame the frizz for so long. It’s A 10 has worked so much better than any other product I have ever tried. I spray this is my hair after I brush it while wet. By doing this I can go with my natural hair for a few days, where as without the product my hair would have twice the poof it would have with the product in.

Chanel No. 5: This is another item that was gifted to me by my boyfriend but for Valentine’s Day. I was never a high perfume girl, but this has become my signature scent. I were this perfume for every function I have no matter how big or how small. The smell is perfect and does not give me headaches like other scents do. It is super light and classic, perfect for any time fo the year. Just like the other luxe items included here I am in no way bragging, and I am so grateful to be fortunate enough to hav this item.

bodysuits: Over the past year I have definitely become a bodysuit collector. I love bodysuits because they are perfect for when you want a seamless tuck or want to wear a long sleeve top under a graphic tee or under a fun dress. If you have not hopped on the bodysuit trend I highly recommend it. They are so so flattering on any body type! I could not recommend them enough.

Fabletics 2 for $24.99 leggings: Anyone who knows me know how much I love my Lululemon leggings, but I think I have found my new favorite. Fabletics has a special where you can buy two pairs of leggings for $24.99. Many people think this is too good to be true, but I can assure you it is real. These leggings are just thick enough that you don’t have to worry about them being see-through when you bend over, the waistband stays in place all day and doesn’t slip, and they are just as nice — if not nicer — than my Lululemons. Plus, they’re a fraction of the price.

The Ordinary moisturizer: When I was looking for a new moisturizer I was a little skeptical of this one. At first I thought to myself, “Okay, how good can a $7 moisturizer even be?” but I soon realized it can work just as well as the high end stuff. I use this product every morning and every night, and I have seen significant changes. My face feels so much more smooth than it did before I used this moisturizer. They also have serums that I have heard great things about.

Dior Lip Glow: This is my final high end item, and it was probably my favorite product of the year. This chapstick is the first tube that I have ever fully used. It made my lips feel super moisturized, while giving them a light, pinky, shine. This is something I would have never picked out for myself had I not had a gift card. I’m not saying to go out and spend $35 on chapstick, but if you have the money you won’t regret it. You know what, as I’m writing this I’m realizing why I never have any money…

The Smith’s Rosebud Salve: Along with the Dior Lip Glow, this is another one of my favorite lip products from this year. I have in both the original rosebud, as well as mint. I have been through two tubes of rosebud, and I’m half way through the mint. This product is perfect for keeping your keeping your lips from drying out during the colder months without breaking the bank.
