You hear it all the time, “Girl, wash your face.” There’s even a self-help book titled the before mentioned statement. Now I’ll be honest here, I’m a heavily involved member of the “Sleeping In My Makeup Club,” but I sure am a sucker for a good skincare routine. Here’s a rundown of some of my favorite products, as well as some of my peers.
On the off chance that I am removing the beauty products I slathered onto my face earlier that morning, I first start to wipe it off with the Clinique Take the Day Off Eye Makeup Remover Stick. Then, as an extra precaution, I use a Neutrogena Deep Clean Micellar Cleansing Towelette to make sure any excess eye makeup and concealer and foundation come clean off. I then wash my face with the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. Now here’s where I like to mix it up a bit. If it’s been a long week filled with pounds of makeup caked onto my skin, I like to use a Neutrogena Purifying Cleansing Mask, but if I feel my skin isn’t having its best week and blackheads have decided to pull a Queen Bey and “run the world,” I use the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask, letting the product sit for twenty minutes before washing off. I then give my a self a quick spritz of Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray and head off to bed!
Katherine:After Lauren we have Katherine. Katherine washes her face with Olay Gentle Cleanser and moisturizes with Olay Complete UV 365 Daily Moisturizer, which is great for sensitive skin and it is oil free. After she is done with that, she uses her BeautyCounter CounterControl All Over Acne Treatment. She usually just rubs one pump all over her face. If she is breaking out, she will use her Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. If it has really just been a rough night, she will go ahead and wipe everything off with a Neutrogena Cleansing Wipe, then head off to bed.
Lauren: I took the liberty of asking my good friend Lauren, who knows a thing or two about a thing or two, how she keeps her skin happy and healthy. Lauren said that after a long day she likes to cleanse her skin with the Lush Herbalism Face and Body Cleanser, followed by her washing her face with the Biore’ Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. She then removes any stuck on dirt or makeup with Biore’ Pore Clarifying Toner. Ahead of moisturizing with the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, Lauren gives her face a quick spritz with her favorite Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray.
Lola: Before heading off to bed, Lola washes her face with her Clarisonic Facial Cleansing Brush and the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, moving in upward circles across her face. She then uses Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner to remove any excess makeup left on from the day. After applying toner, Lola applies Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream and her Rodan + Fields Lash Boost. Here we have Lola’s favorite steps of this routine. She applies any one of her many Glossier Balm Dotcom Lip Balms and gives herself a hefty spray of the Mario Badescu Lavender Facial Spray.
